Kidapawan City, August 22, 2024—Director Arlene A. Romasanta of the Knowledge and Information System Service (KISS), along with her team, and representatives from the Network Infrastructure Management Division (NIMD) and Planning Management Division of DENR 12, visited PENRO Cotabato, CENRO Matalam and Mechanized and Modernized Forest Nursery (MMFN) to conduct a comprehensive field assessment of the ICT facilities.

The visit aimed to identify the hardware and device needs of the field offices in response to the rapid advancements in digital technology. The team focused on identifying concerns within the field offices and discussing immediate actions to resolve them. Additionally, the visit included data gathering necessary for revising the Information System Security Policy (ISSP) for the years 2021-2023 and 2024-2026, as well as preparing for the ISSP 2027-2029. This process is critical in defining the organization’s strategic vision concerning cybersecurity.

Director Romasanta emphasized the importance of upgrading digital infrastructure, particularly in field offices, stating, “We need to prioritize digitalization in our field offices, as they are the frontline providers of information critical to higher-level planning and decision-making. With efficient and effective digitalization, we can all rise together.”

PENRO Sinarimbo echoed this sentiment, adding, “The enhancement of our ICT facilities is not just a technical upgrade but a step toward empowering our field offices to better serve our communities and contribute to our shared goals.”
