Kidapawan City, Cotabato – A 65-year-old woman was arrested in an entrapment operation jointly conducted by the PNP Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 12 (RACU 12) and DENR 12-PENRO Cotabato for the illegal online sale of a chainsaw.

The suspect was apprehended at 10:40 AM on July 15, 2025, along the National Highway in Brgy. Sudapin after offering a “36-inch chainsaw” for sale via Facebook Marketplace. Confiscated items included the chainsaw, a mobile phone, and marked money.

The operation was led by PCPT Jonie T. Ocampo (CPCRT-RACU 12), in coordination with Kidapawan City Police Station under Chief of Police PLTCOL Josemarie Ramirez Simangan, with support from DENR 12-PENRO Cotabato.

Charges are being prepared for violation of the Chainsaw Act of 2002 (RA 9175) in relation to Sec. 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act). The suspect is in police custody, while seized devices will undergo further examination.
