Kidapawan City – To address environmental violations spreading through social media, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-PENRO) Cotabato has strengthened its partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group through a dialogue led by the Cotabato Provincial Cyber Response Team (CPCRT) under Police Captain Jonie T. Ocampo.

The discussion focused on illegal online activities such as the unregulated sale of chainsaws and the wildlife trade without proper permits—violations that endanger biodiversity and undermine environmental laws. City Prosecutor Romeo G. Rodrigo III emphasized the importance of solid evidence and close coordination between prosecutors, law enforcers, and regulatory agencies to ensure offenders are held accountable. Together with Globe Telecommunications, DENR-PENRO, PNP-CPCRT, and the City Prosecutor’s Office vowed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, promote safer digital platforms, and uphold the protection of the environment—even in cyberspace.
