{"id":1324,"date":"2025-06-09T13:51:36","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T05:51:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/penrocotabato.com\/?p=1324"},"modified":"2025-06-09T13:58:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T05:58:11","slug":"rescued-philippine-freshwater-crocodile-released-back-to-the-wild","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/penrocotabato.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/09\/rescued-philippine-freshwater-crocodile-released-back-to-the-wild\/","title":{"rendered":"Rescued Philippine Freshwater Crocodile Released Back to the Wild"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Kabacan, Cotabato &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>The critically endangered female Philippine freshwater crocodile (<em>Crocodylus mindorensis<\/em>) rescued in Barangay Sarayan, President Roxas on May 30, 2025, and turned over to DENR-PENRO Cotabato on June 3, 2025, was successfully released back to its natural habitat today, June 4, 2025, in Liguasan Marsh within Kabacan, Cotabato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The release was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the USM Wildlife Rescue Center, LGU Kabacan, BLGU Cuyapon, and deputized Bantay Pawas\/Wildlife Enforcement Officers (WEOs) of Barangay Cuyapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The species is protected under RA 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
